(Update #2) Police Identify Victim in Last Weekend’s Violent Murder of Elderly Woman in Hilo

Hawai‘i Island police have identified the victim of the violent early morning stabbing in Hilo, on Saturday morning, March 29, 2025, as 81-year-old Lola Linda Loebl, of Hilo.

On Sunday morning, March 30, the suspect in this case, 30-year-old Keoni Peter Tosie Brown was charged with the following offenses:

  • Second-degree murder
  • First-degree terroristic threatening

Brown’s bail was set at $2,020,000. He remained in police custody pending his initial court appearance on Monday, March 31, in South Hilo District Court.  

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Friday, April 4, to determine Loebl’s exact cause of death.
