Rewards of up to $11,000 Offered in Manhunt for Suspect Who Shot Police Officer

Hawai‘i Island police are continuing their manhunt for 39-year-old Christopher Lucrisia of Mountain View. Lucrisia is wanted for the attempted murder of a police officer that occurred Friday, March 13, in Hilo, as well as for robbery, reckless endangering, and firearms offenses.

Total rewards of up to $11,000 are now being offered for information that leads to the capture and arrest of Lucrisia. The US Marshals Service, in cooperation with Hawai‘i Police Department, is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for the capture and arrest of Lucrisia. This is in addition to the up to $1,000 reward offered by Hawai‘i Island Crime Stoppers.

As of Saturday, March 15, at 10 a.m., Hawai‘i Police Department, along with federal partners from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the State Department of Law Enforcement, the Department of Land and Natural Resources, and the US Marshals Service are actively searching for Lucrisia to bring him to justice. He is still considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Lucrisia is described as Puerto Rican, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 250 pounds, with black hair and green eyes.

Police ask anyone who may have witnessed or have any information about the incident to call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311 or 911 if it is an emergency.

Citizens who wish to remain anonymous can make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at (808) 961-8300 and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers does not record any calls or subscribe to caller ID.
