Police Seeking Ocean View Man Wanted on Arrest Warrants, Considered Armed and Dangerous
Hawai‘i Island police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating 40-year-old Robert “Tamatoa” Teinauri-Carman of Ocean View, who is wanted for two outstanding warrants, one regarding an indictment and one regarding revocation of release of bail, as well as for questioning in a 2022 burglary in the Hawai‘i Ocean View Estates subdivision in the Ka‘ū district.
Police caution the public not to approach Teinauri-Carman as he is considered armed and dangerous and if seen, to immediately contact police at (808) 935-3311.
Teinauri-Carman was last seen on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. in the area of the 49-mile-marker on Highway 11 in Ka‘ū at which time he fled from officers on foot. Police conducted an extensive ground search in the area, however were unable to locate Teinauri-Carman. It is unknown if he received any assistance leaving the area in a vehicle. Although his whereabouts are unknown at this time, Teinauri-Carman is known to frequent the Hawaiian Ocean View Estates subdivision.
Teinauri-Carman is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, 175 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes and numerous tattoos on the front and back of his body.
The Hawai‘i Police Department would like to remind the public that anyone determined to be harboring or concealing a wanted person could possibly have criminal charges filed against them for harboring or concealing the wanted person.
