Police Ask Public’s Assistance Identifying Female Suspect in Hilo Robbery

Hawai‘i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance identifying a female robbery suspect in an incident that took place at a grocery store on Makaala Street in Hilo, Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 5:30 a.m.  

A female employee reported that an unidentified female suspect placed several items in a basket and proceeded to the exit without paying. The female employee was struck by the female suspect after confronting her. The female suspect then left the area in a white Honda Civic. Video surveillance captured the incident.    

Police ask anyone who may know the identity of the unidentified female suspect, or who has information regarding the incident, to contact the police department’s non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311.
