Third Annual HI-PAL Canoe Regatta in Kona

Hawai‘i Police Department’s Kona Community Policing Section in collaboration with the Hawai‘i Island Police Activities League (HI-PAL) is teaming up with Kai’ Opua Canoe Club and Kai ‘Ehitu Canoe Club for the third annual HI-PAL Outrigger Canoe Regatta in Kona on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

Keiki age 12 to 18 and clubs are encouraged to sign up now to participate in the HI-PAL regatta, which will feature 14 different events. It’s a fun opportunity for keiki to paddle with their club teammates, high school teammates, or their friends that may paddle for a different club or high school.

Here’s the HI-PAL Canoe Regatta schedule:

  • Location: Kailua Pier, 75-5664 Ka‘ahumanu Place, Kailua-Kona (off of Ali’i Drive)
  • Check-in: 7:00 a.m.
  • Opening Ceremony: 9:00 a.m.
  • Races Start: shortly after the opening ceremony
  • Lunch and Award Ceremony: following the last race
  • Pau: 12:30 p.m.
