Police Stations
There are eight district stations across Hawaiʻi Island. Hawaiʻi Police Department has a dual command structure with four police stations in Area I, East Hawaiʻi, and four stations in Area II, West Hawaiʻi. In addition to Patrol, each Area has a Criminal Investigation Division, which includes the Criminal Investigation, Juvenile Aid, and Vice Sections.
Area 1
The Area I Operations Bureau includes investigative and patrol operations in East Hawaiʻi. Encompassing an area of 1,685 square miles, its districts include Hāmākua/North Hilo, South Hilo, and Puna. A Captain heads each of the three patrol districts.
