Community Satisfaction Survey

A note from Police Chief Benjamin Moszkowicz:

Police Chief Moszkowicz

Since 2010, the Hawai‘i Police Department has conducted a Community Satisfaction Survey as part of its national accreditation process to solicit feedback from the community. From 2010 to 2019, the surveys were conducted every three years, and since 2019 they have been conducted every two years.

We Want to Hear From You!

Our current survey is open February 1, 2023, to February 28, 2025. You can go directly to the survey by clicking on this link or using the QR code below. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HPD2025

“We are committed to providing the highest quality police service to our communities here on Hawai‘i Island,” said Chief Moszkowicz. “The feedback we receive from the public through this survey is a key element of gauging our success and identifying areas for improvement.”

Knowing that our department’s effectiveness is ultimately determined by the confidence and cooperation of the Hawaiʻi Island communities we serve, the survey included both multiple choice questions and an opportunity to make individual comments that helps us in determining Hawaiʻi Police Department’s strengths and weaknesses.

By comparing the results of this year’s survey with the results of past surveys, the department can gauge where it has improved and where it needs further improvement.

Mahalo to all those who participated in completing the 2023 Hawai‘i Police Department Community Satisfaction Survey! We received a record number of 1,579 responses, a 51 percent increase over the previous record of 1,041 responses received in 2021.
