As part of our ongoing efforts to promote transparency and enhance crime prevention awareness, Hawaiʻi Police Department is offering crime mapping data of Hawaiʻi Island. A free service by City Protect.com, this mobile-friendly website allows users to explore crime mapping of their neighborhood and district.

How to Use

To see crimes in your neighborhood, zoom in on the map by clicking on the “+” sign in the lower right screen showing the outline of Hawaiʻi Island.

Once you’ve zoomed in on an area, click on “Incident” on the top left side of the page. Then click “filters”, type in a specific time frame and the types of crimes you would like to see, then hit enter. You can click on each icon on the map to read more information on that crime.

Disclaimer

The CityProtect.com map represents statistics by geographic area for crimes reported to the Hawaiʻi Police Department Dispatch system. Data represented is a snapshot of the number of categorized incidents as recorded at the moment of data upload by CityProtect.com. The information may not always reflect changes to individual incidents/cases if the changes were made after data upload. Because the original data source is dynamic and is therefore constantly changing, information may differ from day to day. Crimes are subject to change for a variety of reasons, including late reporting, and reclassification of some offenses.

By posting this information the Hawaiʻi Police Department does not intend to make any inference, judgment, or representation as to the relative safety of any particular area or neighborhood.
