Hawai’i Island police have identified the victim in the kidnapping incident that was reported Sunday evening, July 7, 2024, in Hilo. He has been identified as a 23-year-old Puna man. He was located Tuesday evening, July 9, 2024, in good health. He declined to provide further details regarding the incident.

This investigation remains continuing.

The Hawai’i Police Department would to thank community members who provided information on identifying the victim and suspects.
