Hawaiʻi Island police are renewing their request for the public’s assistance in locating 74-year-old William Hammett of Volcano, who was reported as missing.

He was last seen walking in the Fern Forest subdivision in Volcano at the end of May 2024.

Hammett is considered an endangered missing person due to his age.

Hammett has a light complexion, 5 feet 9 inches tall, about 175 pounds, with medium-length white hair, a white beard, and blue eyes.

Police ask anyone who may have information about Hammett’s whereabouts to please call Detective Kimo Keli’ipa’akau of the Area I Criminal Investigations Section at (808) 961-2375, or email kimo.keliipaakaua@hawaiicounty.gov.
